“One year ago today, I officially began, what has become, an unforgettable journey. On August 20, 2012, I took my first real Crossfit class. It contained box jumps (ironic, huh?!), kb swings and Burpees. The note I made in my journal that day said “feet must leave the floor for Burpees to count”. My feet, apparently, hadn’t left the floor! I vividly remember how difficult it was to get out of the car when I got home. I wouldn’t say I was hooked from that first class, but I sure was committed. I kept showing up. I kept doing the work. And I haven’t looked back.
I can honestly say, no matter what the rest of my life holds for me, that joining CFBR will forever be one of the best decisions I have ever made. I have added 115 lbs to my deadlift, 80 lbs to my back squat, 65 lbs to my power clean and competed in three competitions since my journey began. But, at least for me, I have gained a family. I can not express enough how much the people at CFBR mean to me and how much they have added to this experience. I have days where I literally can not do it without them and when those days happen they show up and bring the support. I cherish the friendships I have formed. Everything people say about CF is true and I Thank God that I drank the Kool-Aid!!!”
