What led you to Crossfit?
My husband and I did P90X and I was looking for “the next
thing”. A gym owner I met suggested CrossFit, so I started
trying out some scaled-down versions of the
www.crossfit.com workouts on my own. I was instantly hooked. What's has surprised you the most about Crossfit?
I am amazed at how far I’ve come and what my body can do! Putting in hard work over time
with good coaching really does produce great results! The camaraderie and community that
surrounds the sport also blow me away. What is the movement that you love the most, and why?
I really like kipping handstand push-ups! They are a good challenge and being upside down
is fun. What is the movement that you hate the most, and why?
Honestly there is nothing I hate, but I don’t love rowing. It’s just exhausting! What are you most nervous about with the Games?
I just want everyone to stay healthy! You can’t plan for injury or sickness so I’m praying for
everyone to make it through competition season in good shape! What is the one profession you wish you'd tried?
I’m young but I’ve had quite a few career changes already and absolutely love where I’ve
ended up working for a non-profit and CFBR! This isn’t a profession, but I wish I had done
the “World Race” when I was in college. It’s a program where you volunteer in a different
country every month for an entire year. It sounds like a cool way to travel and see the
world. Other than training, what is the one hobby you most enjoy?
Food. I love to go grocery shopping, learn about nutrition, cook for others and myself,
and (of course) eat! When you need motivation, what do you think about?
I think about how far I’ve come and how blessed I am to be able to do what I can do. I’ve
had a lot of health issues in the past and like to think that the strength and endurance I
gain from CrossFit keeps me going in the right direction towards a strong body and mind. What is the one thing you wish people knew about you?
People fascinate me, but I am a girl of few words. My family and friends probably don’t
know how much I love them and my acquaintances would probably be scared of how much
I like them!
