Do not fear The Gauntlet

What is The Gauntlet?
Simply put, The Gauntlet will be a test of fitness. The Open comes around once per year and is a great way of bringing the community together around our common goal of improving ourselves and our fitness. The Gauntlet will be a way for our community to come together more regularly to take on unknown challenges, face them together, have fun, and get some feedback on what you should focus on improving over the next few months.

Is The Gauntlet for competitors?
The Gauntlet is not just for competitors and will be set up to be a challenge for all levels. It will be my version of what I think the Open should be. It will be a broad test of various capacities and skills intended to help you continue improving on weaknesses and get feedback from coaches. This is not a competition, it’s a chance to continue pushing the needle on your fitness dial forward.

Will The Gauntlet be intense?
As with all of our training, the intensity is up to you. The goal is to push the intensity up a little more than you do in regular training and spur further improvement.

Do I have to participate in The Gauntlet?
No, but it will be a fun event that will bring the community together to support each other to be our best. You can spectate, participate, or both. BRFC is a community, and community is more than paying your membership and coming to class. A community is a group of people who share common attitudes and goals, at BRFC we believe it’s a step further and includes mutual support of achieving our common goals and improvements in our lives. Support each others efforts and come to cheer even if you aren’t participating.

What will be in The Gauntlet?
This Gauntlet will have 3 tests of fitness, and that’s all you’re getting out of me until the events are announced.

What happens after The Gauntlet?
You’re encouraged to hang around, rehydrate with your beverage of choice, eat some food and have a good time. After The Gauntlet participants will get feedback from their coach that will help them work towards better fitness. How awesome is that!

Sign up on the sheet at the desk if you plan to participate.
See you all June, 17 from 11am-1pm for The Gauntlet, and may the odds be ever in your favor.
