We appreciate you, Amber!

“I just want to say this now that the open is behind me:

I’m not an athlete by any means. In fact, I spent most of my life avoiding any real “athletic” type of activity. Being a part of this gym has made me feel as close to an athlete as it is going to get. I walk with my shoulders back, try to get the “cant’s” out of my head and I push myself. I really appreciate that so many of you are supportive of my journey, even though nearly every workout I do is modified. The open didn’t allow for modifications, which was pretty humbling. Two workouts couldn’t be scored. But I did what I could for those two workouts and there was always someone cheering. Thanks to all for the encouragement, support, and leading by example. I hope that one day someone comes to CFBR who is new and needs help and I can do for her what you’ve done for me.

Most importantly- watching the girls (and guys) do the open workouts made me so proud to be a part of CFBR. Some people did them even though they didn’t sign up! The judges were encouraging and showed up/stayed late to help people get their scores in. What a great experience. Good job to everyone, and thanks again. Sorry this is kind of sappy, but it is how I feel.”

We appreciate you, Amber!  You continue to show us why we do what we do every day. YOU are an inspiration to us all!
