For those of you that don’t know me that well I am more than a CrossFit enthusiast and coach at CFBR. I pretty much enjoy any sport or activity known to man including running and yoga to name a few. Tonight while at yoga I set my intention for practice to let go of something negative in my life. The very first item that popped into my mind was to let go of my negative self-talk. I find that this happens when I don’t feel that I have performed the way someone else has or look the way that someone else does. How does this relate to CrossFit or CFBR?

I believe that the setting of intentions is important for growth in any area of life, but especially in CrossFit. Each of us needs to set a daily intention. You have to know why you are there each and every time you walk through that door. Some days it might simply be for a healthy version of stress relief and that might not be the day you hit a PR, but that’s OK. Some days it might be to ride the high of a great day or week personally or professionally and these tend to be the days I kill it or set a PR (love these days). Knowing you intention the minute you walk through that door sets you up for greater success than you know. You have already succeeded in a way and I can guarantee you will have better results, faster times and lift heavier weight. The journey is the best part of reaching a destination and the hardest part is staying motivated on this journey. By focusing on a daily intention for your CrossFit practice and taking it one day at a time achieving your long term goals or results might just come faster than you thought.
